Keeping Londonderry beautiful, year after year

LONDONDERRY — The streets of Londonderry will live to see another year free of trash
That was the conclusion of a recent near-death experience for Beautify Londonderry, the volunteer group that marshals hundreds of residents each spring to pick up litter and spruce up the landscaping at town and school sites.
When Kerri Stanley decided to step down as the group’s chair this year — her plate full with work, four kids and the town’s recreational soccer organization — she left a vacuum at the top. Member Paul Margolin put a letter in the Londonderry Times announcing the clean-up’s suspension for 2016.
Then Mike Byerly stepped in at the last minute to take the helm, though he hadn’t participated in years past. –
