Chairman Lynn Wiles said that appointments were discussed at the 4\/24\/2023 Town Council Meeting, but due to the confusion of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.londonderrynh.gov\/town-council\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.londonderrynh.gov\/town-council\">Town Council<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.londonderrynh.gov\/town-manager\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.londonderrynh.gov\/town-manager\">Town Manager<\/a> the last open seat was not filled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Utilities Committee Open Seats and Confusion\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ya3J2tSIZZM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><figcaption>Utilities Commmittee Meeting, 4\/26\/2023<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the 4\/24\/2023 Town Council meeting Councilor Dunn attempted to appoint Deb Paul as an alternate. Council Farrell stated that Paul was not on the agenda and they should deal with the appointment of Joy Muller. The Council voted 5-0 to appoint Muller. Later in the meeting when Councilor Dunn made a motion to appoint Deb Paul Councilor Ted Combes and the Town Manager stated that there were no alternate positions available since they had just appointed Muller.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>There were two when we started today.<\/em><\/p><cite>Councilor Ron Dunn<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why did Councilor Combes or the Town Manager not bring up this earlier when Councilor Dunn asked to appoint Paul? Councilor Jim Butler asked how many seats were available. Town Manager stated there was only one open seat, which was filled by Muller. Deb Paul beleived there wasa a resignation leaving an open seat. Deb Paul discussed the appointment at the 2\/6\/2023 Town Council meeting. Paul asked to be appointed. Councilors Farrell, Franz, Butler, and Green were in support of Paul being appointed as an alternate member to the committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Below is the appointment and discussion from the 2\/6\/2023 Council meeting.
