After the final Public Hearing and input from the public the Town Council voted 5 \u2013 0 to support Article 8 and move it to the Deliberative Session on 2\/10\/2024<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Article 8: [DPW Equipment\/Vehicle Leases]<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Town Manager to enter into up to a 10-year lease agreement in the amount of SIX HUNDRED EIGHTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($685,000)<\/strong> for the purpose of leasing 26 dash wheel trucks, A1 dash ton dump truck, and a backhoe, and proper equipment, and to raise and appropriate the sum of NINETY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($90,000)<\/strong> for the first year’s payment for that purpose. This lease agreement contains an escape clause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n (If passed, this article will require the town to raise $90,000 in property taxes, resulting in a tax rate impact of $0.014 in FY 25 based upon projected assessed values.)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Town Council by a vote of 5-0 recommends a YES vote; the Budget Committee by a vote of 7-0 recommends a YES vote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
