{"id":9907,"date":"2024-12-30T20:07:42","date_gmt":"2024-12-31T01:07:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/townunderground.com\/?p=9907"},"modified":"2024-12-30T20:07:44","modified_gmt":"2024-12-31T01:07:44","slug":"town-council-discusses-vacant-town-manager-position-with-former-lpd-chief-william-hart","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/townunderground.com\/?p=9907","title":{"rendered":"Town Council Discusses Vacant Town Manager Position with Former LPD Chief William Hart"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Town Council discussed the position of the Town Manager with former Londonderry Police Chief William hart during a special <a href=\"https:\/\/townunderground.com\/?p=9903\">Town Council Special Meeting, 12\/27\/2024<\/a> early Friday morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>Minutes from Non-Public Session<br>December 27, 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At approximately 8:04 AM, a motion was made by Councilor Farrell to enter a non-public<br>session regarding open positions pursuant to RSA 91-A:3, II (b). It was seconded by Councilor<br>Combes and a roll call vote was taken, with each member of the Town Council present voting in<br>favor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Council members exited the Moose Hill Room and moved to the Town Manager\u2019s<br>Conference room on the second floor of Town Hall at 8:05 AM. In addition to the Council<br>members, the following people were in attendance:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Liz Bailey, Attorney, Sheehan Phinney<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>William Hart, United States Marshal<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tara Koza, Human Resources Director<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The members met with Mr. Hart to discuss employment opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hart shared information regarding his background during his employment with the Town of<br>Londonderry as well as his current position with the U.S. Marshals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Council discussed Hart\u2019s qualifications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Subject matter included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Hart\u2019s understanding of the Town Manager role.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How to best work with department heads.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>His previous time spent as the Acting Town Manager.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Council gave Hart the opportunity to ask questions of them. Questions were posed on the<br>following subjects:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What the Council sees as the biggest issues faced for the Town Council in terms of the<br>Town Manager role at this time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The timing of the current Acting Town Manager\u2019s term.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Council discussed the importance of establishing the Town\u2019s reputation within the state.<br>The Council also highlighted the issues of responsible growth and development, housing and<br>traffic management.<br>Bill Hart exited the meeting at 9:20 AM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The residency requirement for the position of Town Manager was discussed. There is a<br>provision in the Town charter that addresses this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The potential of needing to offer a relocation package was discussed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Council discussed the job posting<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The job description and its preparation were discussed<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The non-public session ended at approximately 9:37 AM. At approximately 9:39 AM in the<br>Moose Hill Council Chambers, a motion was made by Councilor Combes to come out of nonpublic session and return to the public meeting.
