Should Town Councilors, Planning Board, members or others privately meet with developers?
During Friday nights Meet the Candidate forum Councilor Dolan mentioned that one of the reasons he ran for town council in 2010 was that Woodmont was lost to development. He stated he ‘teamed up’ with John Farrell to run.
At a candidate forum in 2010 John Farrell stated in 2010 that he was aware of the sales of Woodmont long before others in town.
“I actually found out about the Woodmont Orchard piece earlier than some others because of my position on the task-force. The P&S was signed two years ago and it was immediately brought to the Town Manager and then immediately brought to the Town Council as it unfolded over a six or seven month period. During that time it became very clear that some things are going to happen over the next ten years and that we need to have active people from the community shaping this looks ……..”
During this time the PUD was developed and approved by the Planning Board and Town Council. The PUD was key to the Woodmont project. The PUD was key to the Woodmont project.
Moving forward should members of the Town Council, Planning or board meet with developers and not disclose the meeting when voting on ordinances?
