From the School District Website
Dear Londonderry High School Parents and Community Members –
Over the last two months, we have been running a thorough process to find the next Londonderry High School Principal. We have reviewed applications, conducted in person interviews, and we are now at a point where we have three finalists to present to the parents and community (from April 5th to 7th, all three of them will have a whole day inside LHS getting to meet the staff and students as well).
On April 6th from 6:30PM to 8:00 PM in the LHS cafeteria, our three finalists will each have a 30 minute period for parents and community members to meet and get to know each candidate.
Scott Spradling has agreed to be our moderator for this important event. Each of the candidates will briefly share their excitement for the position and why they are the right candidate to lead Londonderry High School into the future. After that, Scott will moderate questions from the parents and community to get to know each of the candidates better.
If you do have questions that you want to ask the candidates, Scott would appreciate submitting those questions ahead of time so that he can prepare for the event more thoroughly. Please use this link to an electronic form to submit those questions: LHS Principal Search: Parent/Community Q&A Event (google.com)
The LHS Principal Hiring Committee is also using this public event to gather feedback on each of the candidates to help them make their final recommendations to the School Board after this event.
Below is a quick description of our three finalists that we are excited for staff, students, parents, and the community to meet (alphabetically listed):
Richard Barnes – Rick is the former principal for Hollis-Brookline High School, where he served for 8 years as principal and 3 years as assistant principal. Rick was also an assistant principal in North Conway, NH and was a high school English teacher for many years at Winnacunnet HS in Hampton, NH.
Matthew Benson – Matt is the current principal of Cawley Middle School in Hooksett, NH. Matt has served as the principal since 2011 and was the assistant principal for three years before that. Matt was also an assistant principal and instructional coordinator in the Manchester NH School District, after he spent many years as an elementary and middle school teacher in the district as well.
Abbey Sloper – Abbey is one of our current LHS Assistant Principals, where she has served since 2014. She was an assistant principal in Hudson before coming to Londonderry as well. Abbey was a social studies teacher in both Hudson and Massachusetts earlier in her career.
