The Town Council once again discussed changing the Town Treasure from an elected to an appointed position at the 11/6/2023 Council meeting. Town Council Chairman John Farrell incorrectly stated that they did not want the same thing that happened in Peterborough where the town lost ‘over a million dollars’ due to lack of oversight to happen in Londonderry. In actuality the town of Peterborough lost 2.3 million dollars which had nothing to do with the town treasure. Town finance employees were victims of cyber criminal as reported by NHPR.
The Town Council voted 5-0 to hold a public hearing on the subject at a future meeting.
