Article 16 passed at the polls on March 8th, 2022. The article raised $150,000 to restore the site of the former school board office to a “safe, landscaped sightly condition” should the school district office not pass. The school district office failed at the polls. The town council discussed the plans for the site at the March 28th town council meeting.

Curiously the council is no questioning the amount that is required for the restoration.
It would seem that $150,000 is a lot for loam and grass. If somebody told me it’s 150,000 to rehab this, I’d say go get a wheel barrow
The council decided to do the minimum amount of work to see if the school district office is presented to the voters next year.
If the council is now asking why so much money was set aside for the project, why were these questions not asked when the article was being discussed? Article 16 was recommended 5 to 0 by the Town Council and 7 to 0 by the Budget Committee. What did we vote for?
Update 3/30/2022: It was brought to my attention that part of the $150,000 was to brick the end of town hall that is currently unfinished after the old school district office was demolished. In 2019 residents approved Article 18

Article 18 appropriated $378,000 for
The purpose of demolition ad rebuilding an addition to town hall.
In total residents have approved $528,000 since 2019 to restore the district office site.
