Some people have asked what TU Talk would be the intent is to answer questions, either questions submitted, or by active participants in a Zoom call. Below is a video I did last year answering question on the town election. TU Talk moving forward would discuss and answer questions on topic of interest throughout the years.
Interestingly the first topic in the video Article 34 which passed is still an unresolved issue as of the last Town Council meeting. Disabled Veterans are still waiting for answers.
Article 34 : [CITIZENS’ PETITION – 100% PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTION – 100% PERMANENT & TOTALLY
DISABLED VETERANS]
2186 – Yes
1379 – No

This source provides a comprehensive overview of the upcoming municipal election scheduled for March 11, 2025. It details various ballot articles, ranging from the town’s operating budget and collective bargaining agreements to specific funding requests for infrastructure and public safety equipment. The text highlights a citizens’ petition regarding property tax exemptions for disabled veterans and explains how the unassigned fund balance is utilized to mitigate immediate tax impacts. Additionally, it lists the candidates running for contested and uncontested seats on the Town Council, School Board, and other local committees. The primary objective is to educate voters on the financial implications and logistical details of each warrant article before they head to the polls.
