At the 4/8/2026 Planning Board meeting, Vice Chairman of the Planning Board, Jeff Penta, expressed frustration regarding the Town Council’s handling of revisions to the Planned Unit Development (PUD) on Monday night. He emphasized that the planning board dedicated significant time to public workshops and previously invited the council to work in a collaborative partnership. Penta took personal offense at claims that the planning board ignored last-minute suggestions, arguing that such requests must follow a formal, documented process rather than being “thrown in” at the end. He urged the Town Council liaison, Shawn Faber, to advocate for more professionalism and better communication to ensure the project reaches completion without inter-board finger-pointing. Ultimately, the Planning Board leader believes the Town Council must match the rigorous work ethic of the staff to successfully modernize the town’s long-standing land-use regulations.
