VOTE DAN BOUCHARD FOR TOWN COUNCIL
On March 11th, two weeks from today, we have a big town election. There will be close to 50 articles and 11 open elected official positions with 20 people running. I’ve always found these town elections overwhelming, with pages and pages of endless jargon and lists of names, but in each of the six years I’ve lived here I’ve dragged the kids out to Londonderry High School Gymnasium and did my best to vote what I felt was right for the town we’ve chosen to raise our kids in. I’ll be honest, even after doing research beforehand, I often felt lost and uncertain about a lot of what was on the ballot, particularly town officials. Even this time around, there is so much I am still wrapping my head around, and almost nothing feels like the perfect solution. With that being said, there is one person I feel very confident in supporting and encouraging you to vote for.
I may share a last name with this person, but hear me out. If you have been following any of the recent town hall meetings, you will know this has been a particularly turbulent and volatile year and it’s not over yet. The town is growing rapidly, which requires big changes and even bigger decisions. We need town council members who have lived through the recent history of our town, are considerably familiar with the complexities of town rules and regulations as well as our schools and public service departments and their valued members, and have experience in the management of businesses and community organizations. We need a town council member who listens and speaks regularly to us, the residents. A town council member who is not afraid to speak up, to question, and to examine, study and research every detail and fine line.
Look no further than the legendary Dan Bouchard.
His experience speaks for itself and I couldn’t possibly come close to covering it all, but I’ll list just a few.
- Dan has been a town resident for over 40 years.
- He served as a Londonderry Police Officer for 28 years and was our town’s first School Resource Officer.
- He has led many successful school fundraisers, cherished town events and invaluable community committees and service projects.
- He has successfully owned and managed small businesses in this town.
You’ll find his name frequently in the town hall minutes and local newspapers, because well before running for Town Council he has always invested his personal time into the ongoing development of Londonderry.
There is no one I would want more in my corner than my father-in-law, Dan Bouchard. He will drop anything to help someone in need and if he can’t help, he’s friends with someone who can. He’s confident, smart, diligent, honest, resourceful and cares deeply for Londonderry.
He’s already volunteered countless hours to this town and he’s stepping up once again, now as a grandfather to six young Londonderry residents, to champion business development, foster community engagement, support our schools and public services, push for efficient governance, ensure safe standards and be a voice for all town residents.
