The Superintendent Search Committee Moves Candidate on to Next Phase of Search Process & Community Invited to 12/12 Meet and Greet
Londonderry, NH— The process to find Londonderry School District’s next Superintendent has been underway since October. The Search Committee is comprised of the 5 School Board Members: Amy Finamore (Chair), Sara Loughlin (Vice Chair), Amanda Butcher, Kevin Gray, and Bob Slater; as well as HR Director Cindy McMahon, Principal Amity Small, LHS Curriculum Coordinator M. Kim Lindley-Soucy, LMS Teacher/LEA Union President Jennifer LaBranche; and parents Amanda Longo and Lauren Geddry under the facilitation of the Bryan Group, who has been working with the District on this process for Londonderry since last winter.
The Committee went through almost 15 applications and interviewed 3 viable candidates during short interviews; after filling out rubrics and reference checking these candidates, one of the 3 was invited back for a long interview. After the committee reviewed the long interview rubric, it was determined this candidate, current Interim Superintendent Daniel Black, will move on to the next phase of the Search process, which is to visit all schools with 2 designated Board members during the day on December 12th, and then that evening, attend a Meet and Greet for the Londonderry community in the Matthew Thornton Library from 5:30-6:30. All community members are welcome to attend to meet this candidate and ask him questions.
Daniel Black has been serving as the Interim Superintendent since July 1st; he previously served as the District’s Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Assessment since 2017. Previously, he worked in Keene as the Assistant Superintendent, was a founding Principal in New York City Schools, an Instructional Coach, a middle school science teacher, and began his educational career with Teach for America in Texas. He earned his degrees from Vanderbilt, Harvard, and Plymouth Universities.
The School Board plans to vote on the next Superintendent at the December 20th Board Meeting.
