Below is response from our new $500 Town Attorney when asked to release a legal opinion. This opinion is being used by the majority of the Town Council (Dunn, Faber, and Combes) to justify the creation of a Legal Sub-Committee. A committee that has not met in public and is not reporting on their activities.

My firm has been retained as legal counsel by the Town of Londonderry for certain matters.
We are in receipt of your request of July 21, 2026. All documents in the Town’s possession that are responsive to your request are confidential and privileged, and are thus exempt from disclosure at this time under RSA 91-A:5 IV; and XII.
We refer you to minutes public meetings for any discussion of the subject matter of your requests.

I’d like a copy of the legal opinion Chairman Dunn stated on 7/20/2026 that he had received. In addition, I’d like to know who rendered the opinion, when it was requested, and received.
For reference these are the RSA’s the attorney cited, I’m not sure how IV applies, but I’m not making $500 and hour
RSA 91-A:5 IV
Records pertaining to internal personnel practices; confidential, commercial, or financial information; test questions, scoring keys, and other examination data used to administer a licensing examination, examination for employment, or academic examinations; and personnel, medical, welfare, library user, videotape sale or rental, and other files whose disclosure would constitute invasion of privacy. Without otherwise compromising the confidentiality of the files, nothing in this paragraph shall prohibit a public body or agency from releasing information relative to health or safety from investigative files on a limited basis to persons whose health or safety may be affected.

Records protected under the attorney-client privilege or the attorney work product doctrine.
