As we approach budget season, here’s a few things that I’m thinking about:
Full Day Kindergarten – Several interesting projects have been proposed. I like the idea of putting multiple solutions to the same problem on the ballot and choosing one. I’m hopeful that we can get to a solution that fits the needs of the program while fitting into the town’s budget.
Lions Hall – I’m interested in seeing what the committee is going to present. I’m skeptical about a phased solution that would require support in multiple budget cycles; I think we need a clear path to a timely end state for the building. I would like to see multiple options go to the ballot, similar to Kindergarten.
Traffic/Roadway Safety Trust Fund – I like the idea. I hope the trust fund includes traffic studies so we can make informed decisions, in addition to roadway changes. I also want to hear about who will manage the trust fund as well as how involved the Traffic Safety Committee and Town Engineering staff will be in decision making.
