I spoke at public comment after the Town Council kicked impact fees down the road again. The Town Council has been a reactive council for years, we hear of everything they want to do when running for election, but seldom see any results from Combes, Faber and Dunn. Newly elected Bouchard and Paul have moved item to the agenda, but seem to be stonewalled by the other three councilors. It’s great to see a new proactive Town Manager that is putting into place plans for the future. I’m not closing this site down, but will admit the lack of attendance at public meetings, considering the amount of ‘keyboard warriors’ on social media is frustrating. /Rant
Google AI’s interpretation:
The YouTube video “I’m Done” from the “TownUnderground” channel features a long-time resident, Glenn Douglas, expressing his deep dissatisfaction with local town governance. Douglas, who has attended numerous town and planning board meetings since 2006, critiques the town council’s consistent dismissal of proposals that could benefit residents, such as impact fees. He highlights a perceived favoritism towards businesses over community services, noting a decline in the latter since he moved to the area in 1996. Douglas also criticizes the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) committee for alleged charter violations and a focus on manipulating public voting rather than genuine long-term planning, ultimately concluding that he is “done” with the current political landscape due to the town council’s disregard for citizen-initiated warrant articles.
