At the 12/16/2024, Glenn Douglas, TownUnderground owner questioned the Town council on the Citizens Petitions that were passed in March of 2024. Douglas had emailed the Council on 12/4/2024, asking if the Council would moved forward with any of the petitions before the end of the year. No Councilors responded.
Article 17, Yes 2686 / No 1430 – Planning Board as elected positions?
Article 18, Yes 3085 / No 1077 – Include public input at the start and end of each meeting
Article 19, Yes 3125 / No 1017 – Committees and board shall meet at a time the best for the general population
Article 20, Yes 3204 / No 933 – Record Public meetings
Article 22, Yes 2427 / No 1621 – Remove the word “Advisory” from “Budget Committee”
The Town Council Chairman’s only response was ‘Thank you Sir’
It looks like some people will be resubmitting petitions for a second year. Maybe next years Council will respect the will of the voters.
