Leach Library Trustee Beth Morrocco is calling for the resignation of the Library Trustee Chair, Liz Thomas, and Tresurer Jan McLaughlin.
Morrocco posted the following on her Facebook page Beth Marrocco for Library Board of Trusteess on 10/9/2025:
For those who have been following along, things have not been going well on the Board of Library Trustees. As a minority member of the Board, I have a lot to say about the travesty of disorganized, mismanagement that has occurred behind the scenes and in public view.
As an elected member of the Board, I represent you, the taxpayer and patron. I was elected to be an ally and advocate for Leach Library and its mission to “provide materials, information, and services for community residents of all ages to meet their personal, professional, and recreational needs.” We are running out of time to insulate Leach from deliberate underfunding, mismanagement, and a hostile work environment for our library staff. It is important for you to understand the depth of dysregulation that is occurring and the lasting effects that it will have at Leach Library.

There are seven elected members of this Board. The Board essentially oversees the fiscal duties of the library. *To learn more about what a Board does, check the NHLTA (New Hampshire Library Trustees Association). https://nhlta.org/wp-content/uploads/2025-trustee-101-1.pdf

The whole of Londonderry is feeling the impact of dysregulation from this Board. The negative outcomes are being deeply felt by the staff of Leach Library, our members of Town Council, the Budget Committee, and the office of the Town Manager, the community taxpayers, and Leach patrons.
Because 4 of the 7 members of this Board carry the majority vote, little can be done to slow the assault on our beloved library.
At this point, the ONLY ethical action is for Chair, Liz Thomas and Treasurer, Jan McLaughlin to step down from their roles and resign from the Board.
There have been 7 months of aggregious activities. Enumerating them would be an endless task, but I will dedicate some time to draw your attention to some truly concerning behavior. As I am able, I will share some of my long-felt concerns for the extreme downward spiral of this Board. My vote may carry little weight, but this heinous mismanagement requires me to speak truth to power. Leach deserves better. Londonderry demands better!
