Former Town Councilor Jim Butler is concerned over the costs spent on 91A requests in recent years. Mr. Butler has requested that the information below be posted on the Town website.
1. Name and Address of requestor.
2. Number of hour spent on the request by legal counsel, Town Manager, and any other town employee.
3. The hourly rates associated to the individuals in item 2.
4. A running total cost and hours spent on all 91A requests.
Butler stated that people would be amazed by the costs spent and wants a report of all request for 2024 and 2023.
Councilor Ted Combes asked if this information can be tracked. Town Manager Malaguti responded that some information can be captured. Malaguti stated that recently they are changing the process to better track requests.
Councilor Farrell stated that the last 91A request completed on 5/3/2024 cost $25,000. Malaguti also stated that a 1,700 page request from 2023 was recently posted to the town website and is updating the site for all requests.
Councilor Farrell at the end of the meeting stated that the town has spent over $100,00 on 91A requests of the last few years. He would like the costs captured and move away from the personal attack and negativity.
In the past a number of individuals have stated the only reason a 91A request was filed is that the town refused to turn over the information when requested.
