The Town Council Chairman briefly addressed Article 22 at the 6/17/2024 meeting. The Town Council Chairman, Chad Franz, stated he did not put the item on the initial agenda that was published on 6/14/2024. The reason given was that the petitioner stated previously that they would begin gathering signatures to put the question on the ballot a second time next March.
Councilor Farrell gave a number of legal definitions, one of which was ‘advisory non-binding’ ‘Not necessary to obey or follow’
If these ‘discussion’ session were for people to better understand the articles, why did the chair initially opt not to discuss the article?
For those of you who have followed along, it seems clear that the majority of the Town Council is not interested in moving any these warrant articles forward. The council has held their ‘discussions’ it will be interesting to see if any of these article are addressed in the future.
The Town Council Chairman has yet to answer if he will support two sessions of public comment at the meeting he runs and sets the agenda. I think we know the answer.
