Kirsten Hildonen, Administrative Support Coordinator, addressed the Town Council on 8/12/2024 asking to upgrade the town website. Hildonen stated the current website was last updated in 2018/2019 “Our town website is rre Covid website for a post Covid world” and no longer fits the needs of our residents. Hildonen stated that the current website content management software will no longer be supported after January 2025, so they are required to make a change. Hildonen recommended moving to a proprietary site thru our current provider Civic Plus which has additional features and a better including features that are required by the Department of Justice which will be required in April 2027.
Councilor Farrell asked if this would be a cloud based website, and immediately moved to approve the request. Councilor Combes asked what the site might look like Hild said she likes the Concord NH website.
Town Manager Michael Malaguti said the current site is a ‘nightmare’ that is difficult to use. He stated they receive numerous complaints about the site.
Cost of the redesign and initials setup is $37,858.50 ongoing annual costs will be $7,195 which is less than twice the current annual cost.
The Town Council voted 5 – 0 to approve the request
